The Role

Sitting at the intersection of technology, gaming, and simulation, they are seeking an experienced Head of IT to lead its infrastructure and IT operations. With a fast-paced, startup-oriented culture, they operate in a highly technical environment that values efficiency, security, and adaptability. Candidates with experience in VR, gaming and simulation will feel right at home. They will be responsible for overseeing all hardware, infrastructure, and IT systems within the company. This includes managing device provisioning for new hires, administering Microsoft SSO credentials across multiple platforms, and supporting development teams with build pipelines and deployment processes. They will play a crucial role in maintaining secure networks, optimizing cloud and on-premises infrastructure, and ensuring smooth software releases. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT leader who thrives in dynamic, high-tech environments and enjoys problem-solving at scale.

Responsibilities

• IT Operations & Infrastructure
• Oversee hardware management, including laptops, workstations, VR equipment and IT equipment.
• Administer and maintain Microsoft SSO for seamless access control.
• Ensure network security, VPN configurations, and remote access are up to industry standards.
• Development & Build Systems
• Maintain and optimize build servers used in game and simulation development.
• Work with Plastic SCM, Jenkins, MASV, and related tools to support software builds and version control.
• Set up and manage testing environments, multiplayer servers, and automation pipelines.
• Oversee CI/CD processes for efficient software deployment and releases.
• Security & Compliance
• Implement and enforce best practices for cybersecurity across all IT systems.
• Ensure compliance with data security protocols and access management policies.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in IT leadership.
• Previous experience in a gaming, simulation environment.
• Expertise in Windows, Linux, cloud infrastructure, and networking.
• Hands-on experience with Plastic SCM, Jenkins, MASV, and VPN administration.
• Strong background in CI/CD, software deployment, and build server management.
• Exposure to a startup environment will be advantageous.
• Experience supporting development teams in a technical capacity.
• A passion for games, and/or VR Simulation would be ideal.
• Previous military experience would be highly regarded, but not mandatory to be successful in the role.
• Great communication skills with a friendly approach.
