The Role:


This opportunity is ideal for a strategic thinker with a passion for media planning and execution. The Media Strategist plays a crucial role in developing multi-channel campaigns that effectively reach target audiences while optimizing performance. By leveraging data, market trends, and creative insight, this role ensures that media strategies align with broader marketing objectives. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Media Strategist will drive meaningful engagement through paid, owned, and earned media channels. This role requires the candidate to work in-office in Calgary.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute comprehensive media strategies across digital, traditional, and emerging platforms.
  • Conduct research and audience analysis to inform media planning and targeting.
  • Manage campaign budgets, allocations, and performance tracking to maximize ROI.
  • Lead media planning and buying.
  • Collaborate with creative and account teams to align media plans with marketing objectives.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with media vendors and partners. Work directly with clients.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance media effectiveness.
  • Analyze and report on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.


Requirements:


  • 5+ years of experience in media strategy, planning, or buying.
  • Strong understanding of digital advertising, programmatic media, paid SEM, social and traditional channels.
  • Proficiency in media analytics tools and platforms such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta, and DSPs.
  • Ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience working in an agency environment.
