The Role
This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Interior Designer to join a passionate team that consistently pushes the boundaries of design. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects, from concept development to final execution, blending aesthetic excellence with practical functionality. You will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders, playing a key role in shaping distinctive, high-quality spaces. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of current design trends, and the ability to bring unique visions to life.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design process from concept to completion on residential and commercial projects.
- Create detailed interior design plans, including mood boards, layouts, and material selections.
- Collaborate with architects, builders, and vendors to ensure design integrity.
- Conduct site visits to oversee the implementation of design elements.
- Maintain project timelines and budgets, ensuring that all deliverables are met.
- Stay current with design trends, materials, and industry advancements.
- Present design concepts to clients and gather feedback for revisions.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Interior Design or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in residential and/or commercial design.
- Solid experience in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of space planning, materials, and finishes, with solid experience of construction drawings, specifications, and millwork packages.
- Experience with Hospitality, Retail and Residential Design (Multi-Family and Single Family)
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of BC Building Code
