The Role:

This freelance opportunity offers flexible, project-based work with the potential to evolve into a more consistent schedule. The Web Designer will play a key role in designing and maintaining websites, ensuring a seamless user experience while aligning with brand aesthetics. Projects may range from two-week sprints to longer-term engagements, with occasional updates and maintenance in between. Regular WordPress site maintenance will be a key component, alongside new website design projects.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop websites using Squarespace and WordPress for B2B clients.
• Maintain and update WordPress sites on an ongoing basis.
• Execute project-based web design work, ranging from short-term updates to full site redesigns.
• Collaborate with a marketing coordinator on content and execution.
• Ensure brand consistency, usability, and functionality across all digital assets.
• Implement design best practices using Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Work remotely, within Canada.

Requirements:

• Experience designing and maintaining websites on Squarespace and WordPress.
• Proficiency in Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to manage project timelines and deliverables efficiently.
• Strong understanding of B2B design principles, particularly in energy, manufacturing, construction, or technology.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team.
• Flexibility to take on 60+ hours of project work over the next few months.
