The Role:

The team is currently immersed in the creation of an exciting new Action-Role Playing Game (Consoles, PC) featuring an anime-inspired art style. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Art Director, demonstrating an outstanding ability to craft game art and provide guidance to fellow artists.

They should be deeply passionate about leading and embodying the company's vision for revolutionizing the visual landscape of games. This role holds significant influence in shaping the player's visual journey through our game world, while also overseeing and mentoring a group of talented artists.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the art team in conjunction with the Art Director.
  • Work alongside principal artists to facilitate the development and integration of art pipelines.
  • Supervise a segment of the artists on the team.
  • Foster the growth and skill development of fellow artists through mentorship.
  • Spearhead art and interdisciplinary feature groups in devising and executing solutions within the engine.
  • Actively engage in project planning and critiques.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and techniques in NPR asset authoring.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in the games industry (or relevant field).
  • Familiarity with Houdini, Substance Designer, and other procedural software or development solutions.
  • Develop and maintain tech art asset and tool depots that support material work.
  • Impressive NPR portfolio showcasing the fusion of meshes, textures, and materials into visually stunning art.
  • Profound expertise in Unreal engine and various DCC packages (Blender, Maya, Adobe, Substance, etc.).
  • Solid grasp of the elements constituting the game art pipeline, encompassing the creation and manipulation of meshes and textures across characters and environments.
  • A profound appreciation for Anime art.
  • Previous experience in mentoring artists at different proficiency levels.
  • Authorization for work in the US or Canada and be located there.
