Senior AI Engineer | Travel Industry | 12 month fixed term | Toronto or Vancouver (In-office) | $120,000 - $150,000 + Bonus

This role would sit on the B2B side of their organisation, focusing on corporate travel, solutions, meetings and events. With 9 direct reports spanning across 5 regions, you will join a wider corporate marketing team consisting of 96 members around the world.
The Role:
A major global travel organization seeks an experienced AI Engineer with a strong track record in AI frameworks, governance, and transformative project delivery. This 12-month contract position, with the long-term potential for a permanent placement. It offers a unique opportunity to support the advancement of AI-driven travel services and customer experiences. Working closely with data science, engineering, and product teams, this role is essential to enhancing operational efficiency, customer engagement, and service quality across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the AI Center of Excellence to design, develop, and implement AI governance and framework structures.
- Identify and implement AI and machine learning solutions that address complex challenges in the travel sector.
- Develop and deploy machine learning models for various applications, including natural language processing, recommendation systems, and predictive analytics.
- Conduct analysis on large datasets, providing insights for AI model development and improvements.
- Maintain and optimize AI systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Stay informed on AI/ML advancements, applying innovative techniques and tools to enhance AI capabilities.
- Communicate progress and complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Manage and deliver on a backlog of projects, including enhancements and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience with AI and machine learning, demonstrated through a portfolio of successful projects.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or Java, with experience in frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
- Strong knowledge of data processing and analysis tools such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Familiarity with NLP, computer vision, or recommendation systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
- Salesforce Einstein experience is an advantage.
- Solid problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
