Senior Gameplay Engineer | AAA Gaming | Quebec (Remote) | $200k – 230k + Bonus (10%)

This dynamic and innovative game development studio is seeking an experienced Senior Gameplay Programmer. This studio is dedicated to crafting captivating open-world experiences with a medieval fantasy theme, driven by strategic gameplay and rich storytelling. The Role

They are looking for a skilled Senior Gameplay Programmer who can work closely with the Game Director, Designers, and other cross-disciplinary teams to help bring an engaging gameplay vision to life. This position requires a deep understanding of AAA game development for PC/Console platforms. Candidates should either be based in Quebec or willing to relocate to Quebec, as the role allows for 100% remote work within the province. Basic French language skills are required for team communication and collaboration.


Responsibilities

  • Quickly prototype innovative gameplay mechanics and features, working collaboratively with various teams.
  • Partner with content creation teams to drive the development of engaging gameplay experiences in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends and best practices in game development, fostering continuous improvement across the team.
  • Design, implement, and maintain core gameplay systems, ensuring all documentation is clear and accessible.
  • Optimize gameplay systems to achieve performance and scalability goals across platforms.


Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in the video game industry, with a focus on gameplay programming.
  • Solid expertise in C/C++, 3D math, and familiarity with Unreal Engine 5.
  • Strong background in gameplay programming for gaming applications.
  • Proven experience in AAA game development on PC/Console platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative approach to team-based work.
  • A genuine passion for video games and creating fun, immersive gameplay.
  • Basic proficiency in French.
  • Willingness to work remotely from Quebec or relocate to the province.
